Loving God and living for Him we declare the good news of Jesus Christ to the nations, transforming Phuket and beyond.
When Jesus was asked what is the most important commandment, he answered, “To love God with all your heart, soul and mind.” (Matthew 22:37-38) That means to love God fully, with our whole being; in such a way that we leave no doubt that he is the most important person in our life.
We demonstrate our love for God by living for Him, which includes living our life according to what the Bible teaches (1 John 5:1-3); modelling our life after the life of Jesus (1 Corinthians 11:1); and loving others (Matthew 22:39). Furthermore, as we live for God, we cannot help but tell others about Him so that they will want know Him for themselves (Acts 1:8).
As more people from the different nations living Phuket come to know God, love Him and decide to live for Him, this will result in seeing transformation not only in Phuket, but also in the regions beyond.
As a church there are a lot of things that we value. But to keep it simple, we have narrowed that list down to four main ones.
We are God-Inspired
We worship God because of who He is and what He has done for us.
We value worship. Therefore, we provide opportunities for people to gather together to give credit and honor to God for who He is (all powerful, wise, merciful, etc.) and what He has done for us (giving us salvation from sin, eternal life in heaven).
(Daniel 2:20-23; James 5:11; John 3:16-17)
We are Biblically-grounded
We live by God’s Word, the Bible because it guides us to intimacy with God and a life that ultimately satisfies.
We value the Bible. We believe it is the very words of God. It is like a guidebook for how to live our life in this world in a way that not only pleases God, but also gives us the most fulfillment. The Bible is divine – a holy book, it is timeless – it transcends time; it is alive – it relevant to meet the issues of today; it is truthful – the standard for absolute truth; and it provides spiritual nourishment to our souls. (Psalms 119:105; 2 Peter 2:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 24:34-35; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 33:4; Matthew 4:4)
We are Mission-focused
We share the story of Jesus because it is the only way to receive salvation from sin and have a relationship with God.
We value the Gospel. It is a message about Jesus Christ; who he is and what he did for us by dying on a cross. It is a message that is worth telling to others. There are lots of things that we can do as a church, but our main mission is to tell the story of Jesus to anyone who will listen. Man and woman’s deepest need is salvation from sin and all its consequences. We receive that salvation by faith in the person and work of Jesus.
(Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 Peter 2:21-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; Acts 4:12)
We are Community-orientated
We use our God-given resources to serve others because it demonstrates God’s love clearly.
We value serving others. God has given each of us resources that He desires us to put to use. He wants us to be active and wise in the use of our resources, which skills, talents, gifts, or possessions that He has given us. We act most like Jesus when we use what we have to serve others, rather than to serve ourselves. The people whom we are to serve are those not only in the church, but those in the community around us as well.
(1 Corinthians 4:7; Matthew 25:14-30; Luke 10:30-42; Mark 10:45)
