Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of this wonderful land whose hearts are heavy with the loss of their king.
I enjoyed playing video games as a kid. I still do on occasion. One of the best things about video games is the reset button. I think this button is one of the reasons why video games can be so addictive. You were so close to complete the level and then made a bad “move/choice” and your “man died.” But no need to fret. Just hit the “reset” button. And you are given “new life” or a fresh chance to try again. It’s a “do-over.”
Real life can be like a video game sometimes. We make a “bad move” or choice, even a sinful one, and it can have deadly consequences. The Bible says that all of us have sinned (Rom. 3:23). No one is exempt. At the same time, the Bible also offers forgiveness for those who deal thoroughly with their sin (1 John 1:9). When we choose to come to God and receive His forgiveness and cleansing, He gives us a new life (2 Cor. 5:17). God changes our identity and status from a sinner to a saint. It is like God has hit the reset button on our life. We are given a fresh start.
This doesn’t mean that we don’t have to deal with the consequences of our past choices any longer. But it does mean that we don’t have to live continually burdened with guilt and regret. We may still feel sad about the past, but it doesn’t have to control our future. It doesn’t have to prevent us from becoming all that God wants us to be, and to be used by Him in a significant way.
The longer we live in Phuket, the more we see and hear stories of brokenness from the lives of others. Many of these are a by-product of “bad moves” or sinful choices made in the past.
We are also becoming aware that many people come to live in Phuket hoping for a fresh start. They want a “do-over” or to hit the reset button. Whether their past contains a painful divorce, a job loss, or an addiction, they want a fresh start.
Maybe that is you. Maybe you came to Phuket looking for a fresh start. A new life. We want you to know that you are welcome to be a part of our community of faith. It is our desire that when you meet us, you will find grace, love and acceptance from the wounds of your past. We want to walk with you to see God bring total health and healing to you emotionally and spiritually.
At All Nations Church Phuket, we are an international church made up of people from all walks of life and experiences. We are not perfect people, but people on the way. We hope that you will feel right at home with us.
